Microsuction
Removing this cerumen via the Micro-suction method is much more comfortable than pressured ear irrigation and much safer, as the risk of infection is minimal. A low pressure suction device and a microscope is used for this method, hence the term Micro-suction. The Audiologist can view where the cerumen is at all times and can carefully remove this using micro-suction, making it a very effective and safe method. Micro-suction is also recommended for people who have perforations, mastoid cavities and regular infections, as syringing these types of ears can lead to further problems.
